Slow performance in west bay.
Recently GRIP network performance in west bay has been poor, and as many of you know I have been working on a solution to the issue.
I have narrowed the problem down to the over-land fiberoptic link that connects West Bay to Center Bay and have implemented a possible fix today.
The issue does not cause total disconnection, but rather causes packet-loss, varying from only 1 or 2% all the way up to 80% loss. The issue seems to be temperature or rain related so I will not be able to confirm the fix is indeed the solution until we wait out some worse weather (good weather today!)
That being said, I can confirm that from 5:15pm today onward (the time of the fix) there has been no measured packet-loss over the line, so things are looking good!
As always let me know if you have any questions or if you experience any problems.
